  • Yesterday I hit a 9 iron 162, another 9 iron 114 and a 7 iron 142, 174 and 194 in three different shots. The yardages, shape and feel are often more important than the exact club when scoring and shotmaking is the concern. This takes really great chemistry and conversation, like these two have.

    • @Jonathan Stevens thanks bro makes complete sense. I appreciate it. I love that 110-120 low spinner with a P

      Jose MarcanoJose Marcano2 күн мурун
    • He means a mid trajectory 135 yard shot. Most likely this is a choke down slightly limited swing pw for collin, but not a super specialty shot. He can and does hit low spinners 110 yds w his pw, which from other convos in the video seems to be a 140ish stock club, that would be a true specialty shot.

  • What does he mean when he says choke down?

    Green & Gold 🔰Green & Gold 🔰8 күн мурун
    • @Ian Lamont ahh I just refer to it as grip down. Thanks pal

      Green & Gold 🔰Green & Gold 🔰8 күн мурун
    • Choke down means to move his grip/ hands slightly down the club grip from where it would be normally. At this level, choking down will result in a shot that will go 1-3 yards shorter than normal. It is how these guys talk about hitting shots to an exact yardage. If a normal 8 iron goes 163 yards, a slight choke down with a normal swing might go 161 yards. These guys are good and they know how to hit it to exact yardages!

    E ME M10 күн мурун
    • On wet days, when there is a concern about feet skipping many will wear metal spikes. On drier days, most will go with soft spikes. Only guy I know who wears metal spikes all the time is Bryson Dechambeau, with his club head speed and swing torque his feet could slip on most shots. New rule changes now allow tapping down spike marks on the green.

    • @LiMitZplus true which is why they are similar i think they are on the limit of whats possible. also tiger was a bigger hitter than colin but colin is far more consistent off the tee than tiger in terms of hitting fareways and to hit it close being it the fairway makes it a lot easier and on some courses a must.

      Vazza 44Vazza 449 күн мурун
    • @Vazza 44 Colin doesn’t aim at every flag either

      LiMitZplusLiMitZplus9 күн мурун
    • @LiMitZplus also tiger played similar to Nicholas where he would mostly play to the middle of greens and believe in his putter be be good enough to make some long putts throughout a tournament. and the Stat i think is primarily based on proximity to the hole relative to the field. so unless tiger at every flag its expected that there stroked gained are similar. i see it as it's extremely hard to do any better than what they are/ did do so i makes sense that there strokes gained would be the same.

      Vazza 44Vazza 449 күн мурун
